Beetlejuice was released in the 1980s horror-comedy genre. The script of this film is full of frightening surprises such as scenes of ghosts that haunt but there is also a meaning of affection for each page when reading. This horror film script tells the story of the owner of the house who died (Adam and Barbara) who then became a wandering spirit who was afraid because his house was sold by a broker, so they haunted the new homeowner to move immediately. The Maitland (Family of Lidya) is a type of family that is selfish, Delia (a psychologist), while the main character Lydia is a teenager whose mother died so she has a strange appearance who likes to wear black and the other main character, Beetlejuice, is a ghost who likes make trouble. Thematically, Beetlejuice explores the importance of home, family, death, and the meaning of life; all under the guise of deceptive simplicity between parents and teens. This drama script is a horror genre but full of comedy that will teach that death is not something to be afraid of but to face. With several characters who have died, this essay will discuss finding the meaning of the death Theme using Existentialism Theory. Human existence is an existence chosen through freedom. According to him, human existence is not something that is silent, but humans are always moving towards possibilities. He emphasized that there must be courage from humans to realize what is possible (Soren Kierkegaard, (1813–1855). According to Soren Aabye Kierkegaard (1813–1855), Existentialism is the search for the means of life in every individual to make it appear clearer and fully aware of the responsibility for answers to the individual itself and others. Facticity, Absurdism, Authenticity, Anxiety, and Fear, Decision Facticity, Absurdism, Authenticity, Death, Anxiety, and Fear, Decisions are things that include the existence or existence of humans as the primary.

The meaning of Soren Aabye Kierkegaard in the film is one of the fundamental things in the search for meaning in life. In Beetlejuice Movie Script, strong feelings of loneliness, often depression, fear of the unknown, and suicidal thoughts are portrayed through the character Lydia. When the writer created Lydia’s, the character tries to write a suicide note and wears funeral-like clothes to feel sympathy for the real-life reality that no one deserves to feel so depressed apart from the characters Adam and Barbara who are anxious and unsure of the wandering and confusing spirit themselves but the film script also feels empathy for each character, remembering all the times life seemed hopeless to them, and the loneliness and confusion they may feel wondering about the meaning of life after death.

So, in this analysis are provided evidence of analysis with using issue above. This elaborates in some of the literary elements that sows this story has an issue which related to the theme. In page 10 there is dialogue “There are a thousand things we want to know. Is this a punishment? Or is it a reward? Are we halfway to heaven or are we halfway to hell? Why did you disappear when you walked off the front porch? And how long is it going to last? That’s for starters” Barbara said. Then in the 12th Adam reply Barbara's words “Do you feel trapped? We’re not allowed to leave the house”. And BARBARA said” No. I don’t feel trapped. I never imagined death would be like this. I’m so happy. Sometimes I just wonder how long it’s going to last. How long we’re going to be allowed to stay here.” based on this dialogue we know that if they have car injury and they feel so confused because have death. This feeling is called fear according to (Jaff Masson ,1940)

So, in this film, it can be concluded that Existentialism is a study of philosophy that understands that humans have the freedom to carry out an action and are responsible for their actions without thinking in advance between good and bad actions. In essence, existentialism views that humans cannot be shackled by other activities that make humans lose their essence of life, namely as human beings with existence. As Lydia did with an obsession with death after her mother died, this made Lyia realize the meaning of death that something that must be faced is not regretted. Just like Beetlejuice, Adam and Barbara teach that death is something that must be faced, whether it’s fun or sad, but death is something that will definitely happen
